Responsible gambling

Racing should be fun. If it has stopped being fun, help is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day.
Our rules
You must be 18 or over to use this Service. We publish opinions, not guarantees. We never recommend a bookmaker, never offer bonuses or inducements, and the Chief never gives staking advice beyond the fixed plan on the record page. The chat has a daily limit, and if you tell the Chief things are getting on top of you he will point you to the help line rather than the next race.
Signs it may be a problem
- Betting more than you planned, or more than you can afford to lose.
- Chasing losses, or betting to fix money problems.
- Hiding your betting from people close to you.
- Feeling anxious, low or irritable when you are not betting.
Tools that help
- Set a deposit limit with your wagering operator before you bet. Every licensed Australian operator must offer one.
- BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register: betstop.gov.au.
- Take a break from this Service: turn off the daily email on your account page or close your account.
Hong Kong
If you are in Hong Kong, support is available from the Ping Wo Fund counselling hotline on 1834 633.
Information on this page is general. If you are in immediate danger call 000 (Australia) or 999 (Hong Kong).
