Privacy policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
This policy explains what I'm Feeling Lucky collects, why, and what happens to it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Your email address; your Telegram handle if you give it; your notification preferences; your 18+ confirmation and acceptance of terms; your chat conversations with the Chief; and basic technical data (login times, approximate location from your IP, device type) needed to run and secure the Service.
Why we collect it
To run your account, send the daily email and Telegram posts you opted into, answer your chat questions and keep a history of them for you, enforce the daily chat limit and the 18+ rule, and keep the Service secure. We do not sell your data to advertisers.
Who we share it with
Service providers who process data on our behalf: authentication and database hosting, email delivery, background job processing, and the AI model provider that generates chat replies (your messages are sent to it to produce an answer). Each provider is bound to use the data only to provide its service. Some providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Transfer to a successor business
The Service is operated as a transferable asset. If the Service, or substantially all of its assets, is sold, merged or otherwise transferred to another business, your personal data (including your email, preferences, Telegram handle and chat history) may be transferred to that successor so your account continues. The successor will be bound by this policy, or a policy no less protective, until it tells you otherwise. We will notify you by email of any such transfer and you may close your account at any time.
Retention
We keep account data while your account is open and for up to 12 months after it closes, unless the law requires longer. Chat history is kept with your account. You can ask us to delete your account and we will do so within 30 days.
Your rights
You can access and correct your data from the account page, change notification settings at any time, unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, and ask us for a copy or deletion of your data. Contact: the email address in the footer of every daily email.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for login and for the demo switch. No advertising cookies.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, contact us first. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
